Terms of service
Last updated: October 2026. This page is a working draft and must be reviewed by counsel before launch.
1. What we are
ProxyBao provides a purchasing and consolidation service. We place orders on Chinese marketplaces (Taobao, Tmall, JD.com) on your instructions, receive the goods at our warehouse, and arrange international shipping to you.
We do not sell goods. Title to the goods passes directly from the seller to you. We act as your agent for payment, ordering and shipping, and we charge a service fee for that work.
2. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate product links, specifications and quantities
- Pay the quoted amount before we place the order
- Pay any shipping difference once the actual weight is known
- Pay customs duties and taxes assessed on import
- Ensure the goods are legal to import into your country
3. Customs clearance and duties
We estimate duties at checkout so you can see the approximate landed cost before you commit. Estimates are not guarantees. The final amount is determined by the customs authority in your country, based on the declared value and the classification of the goods.
On request we can advance duties on your behalf. This is a payment convenience only: it does not transfer any customs obligation to us, and the advanced amount plus a handling fee is payable by you.
If a parcel is refused, abandoned or destroyed because duties were not paid, shipping and service fees are not refundable.
4. Product quality and returns
We are responsible for ordering the correct item and delivering it intact. We are not the manufacturer or the seller, and we do not warrant product quality, fitness for purpose, or conformity with the seller's description.
Inspection and photography are optional services that help document condition on arrival. They are not a quality guarantee.
5. Prohibited goods
We do not purchase counterfeit, replica or otherwise infringing goods, and we do not ship prohibited or restricted items. See our acceptable use policy. Orders found to violate this section are cancelled and refunded, and repeat offenders are blocked.
6. Storage and abandonment
Storage is free for 30 days from arrival at our warehouse. This is the whole free window: consolidated parcel handling upstream does not allow longer holding, so it is not extendable. From day 31 a storage fee of $0.5 per kg per day applies.
If international shipping is still unpaid 60 days after arrival, and after three written notices to the email address on the order, the parcel is treated as abandoned and disposed of under this agreement. We will account for any surplus after deducting outstanding storage and handling fees.
7. Limitation of liability
Our liability for loss or damage in transit is limited to the declared value of the goods or the compensation actually recovered from the carrier, whichever is lower, unless insurance was purchased.
